John Trobiano & Ryan McCarthy Win Tri-State Invitational Playoffs while Scott Simonetti is named Outstanding Player of the Year

B+ Class Finalists Scott Simonetti (1st) & Scott Bannon (2nd) The Tri-State Tour’s 2010 invitational tournament is the long-running 9-ball tour’s annual awards and special tournament event. On the day that each respective class division plays, players are awarded their honors which include “ Most Improved Player “, “ Sportsman of the Year “, and other highly-esteemed designations. This year, the Tri-State Tour honored Scott Simonetti with a special honor of “ Outstanding Player of the Year “.  In speaking with Scott after the event, he mentioned that the tournament went very smoothly, featured a strong field of players,  and that he enjoyed the fact that he didn’t have to wait much in between matches.

The WPBA Finds Value in Old and New as it Announces the 2010 Board Members

WPBA pro Cristina de la Garza is one of the newly-announced board members With the WPBA (Women’s Professional Billiards Association) US Open only a few short weeks away, running from July 28 – Aug 1, 2010 at the Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK, the tour’s players are hard at work preparing for the biggest event of the year.  As the WPBA is undergoing some transitional changes in 2010, this will only be the second WPBA event of the year that the WPBA pro players will be competing in… making the US Open a major opportunity for the players to make a statement. Down to the Final Day at the US Open 10-ball

Sage) On April 14-17 in Venice, Italy, the finest players from around Europe came together to compete in the 2010 Italy Open on the Eurotour… where another English player laid claim to first prize.  NYC Grind contributor Geoff Conway highlights some of the key matches leading up to a big win for former World 9-ball Champion, Daryl Peach … Making it through to the quarter-final Stephen Cohen (France) surprisingly knocked out Ralf ‘Mr Solid’ Souquet (Germany) from the event with a score line of 9-4.
