Days Like Months Here at NYC Grind, we try to keep on the cutting edge of what’s hot in pool as well as music and entertainment.  Most recently, I found out about a New York based band called Days Like Months .  Their unique blend of modern rock, jazz, and a variety of world musics has grabbed the attention of the most music-savvy New Yorkers. Coming up tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10, Days Like months will be performing at one of Manhattan’s lower east side hotspots for live music, the Mercury Lounge .  Starting at 9:30, Days Like Months will be taking stage, and you can catch them live for a minimal $10 cover charge.  Check them out at www.myspace.com/dayslikemonths , and read on to learn more about this talented breakthrough group.

Daru Jones – Drummer/Producer Daru Jones is an underground drummer & producer spitting a new sound out of Brooklyn that will get your head sprung. His unique sound is a mixture of hip-hop with a jazzy twist… Daru fittingly frames it as “Soul Hop.” Hot off the press, Daru just released a cool sampler entitled “Spirit and Soul Hop,” featuring songs produced by Daru himself as well as remixes of songs recorded by local and international artists such as Muhsinah , Rena , Kissey Asplund , Eagle Nebula , and more. For more than a decade, Daru has worked as a professional drummer and producer in many genres, alongside artists such as Talib Kweli , Black Milk , Bilal , Slum Village, J-Live, and Kim Burrell, to name a few.
