Fischer Hosting a field of sixty-seven players, the Ozone Billiards Predator Tour held its 11th stop of the 2010 season at the Amsterdam Billiard Club on July 24-25. With a wide range of top NYC-area amateur players in the A/B/C/D 9-ball event, along with the eight-player Open/Pro 10-ball event, there was plenty of great play to be seen at Amsterdam Billiards on this weekend. Top players in the amateur event included Michael Yednak, Victor Nau, John Alicea, Stewart Warnock, and Jerry Tarantola, along with three top female players, Emily Duddy , Diana “Snooky” Rojas, & Gail Glazebrook

On the day that each respective class division plays, players are awarded their honors which include “ Most Improved Player “, “ Sportsman of the Year “, and other highly-esteemed designations. This year, the Tri-State Tour honored Scott Simonetti with a special honor of “ Outstanding Player of the Year “. In speaking with Scott after the event, he mentioned that the tournament went very smoothly, featured a strong field of players, and that he enjoyed the fact that he didn’t have to wait much in between matches.

Sandie Patarino Breaks Through to win her First Tri-State Event at Sandcastle

admin Sandie Patarino (1st), Muaz Arshad (2nd), John Palmiery (3rd) The Tri-State Tour is breaking into May’s warm weather, and on Saturday, May 22, the tour headed to Sandcastle Billiards in Edison, NJ for a B/C/D event. Prior to last weekend’s event, Scott Simonetti claimed his second undefeated tour win of the season at his home room, Castle Billiards… and at Sandcastle, twenty-four players came out to vie for a top prize of $495. On that day, the Tri-State would see a new winner emerge in Sandie Patarino , who can regularly be seen playing in Sandcastle’s weekly tournaments as well as many other events around the area… proving herself to be an up-and-coming threat in the New Jersey pool scene. Making her way to the hot seat, Sandie Patarino defeated Nick Serino (6-3), Serrafin Serrano (8-4), Alan Wong (6-3), and John Palmiery hill-hill (6-5) in the winner’s side final.
