The 34th Annual BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships Every year, the BCAPL National 8-ball Championships raises the stakes as it takes over the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.  This year’s event will kick off this Wednesday, May 12 and run through Saturday, May 23d, and players from around the U.S. flock to “The Riv” to get in the action at one of the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur championships in the world. Included among them are a slew of NYC players based out of Amsterdam Billiard Club , and if you head down there on any given league night on the weeks leading up to Nationals….

Moore wrote a most-compelling piece in January 2010 outlining Karl’s goals that he saw in his immediate future, and also how he was going about achieving those goals.  We are happy to have Ben share this piece with our readers. CueSports International Announces U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship Player List and Payouts

US Open 10-Ball Championships As we move deeper into 2010, the pool landscape is continuing to evolve and introduce new and different events.  One such event that is building up some buzz within the pool scene right now, is the first-ever U.S. Open 10-ball Championships, being produced by CSI (Cuesports International) this May.  The event is scheduled for May 17-22, 2010, to coincide with one of the largest amateur championships in the world, the BCAPL National 8-ball Championships .

Geoffrey Bauer Makes an Undefeated Run for a Tri-State Win at Eastside Billiards

Sam Li (2nd), Geoffrey Bauer (1st), Alan Chan (3rd) On Saturday, March 6th, Eastside Billiards was host to the Tri-State Tour’s B/C/D class 9-ball event with $500 added to the prize pool.  This Upper East Side Manhattan hotspot would bring in a number of the areas top amateurs, but only one would walk away with the top prize of $440. In the final four of the winner’s bracket in this event, Alan Chan edged ahead of Sam Li to win 6-5, while Geoffrey Bauer sent Tony Eglesias to the one-loss side by another close 7-5 finish.  Bauer also relented in the match for the hot seat where he won the case game in a hill-hill battle against Alan Chan.
